[It's later in the evening that you actually decide to leave your room and go feed yourself. You haven't eaten anything all day, so it's only natural, as much as you don't want to leave your cage.
Sigma is still around. Seems like it's just the two of you.
You look at him, briefly, but you look away just as fast as you go about your business.]
[ sigma is...well, he's eating. he seems to be rather relaxed, considering what just transpired and what will transpire in the future, but that's just his inexpressiveness.
he takes a glance towards kris, following them for a few seconds before speaking out. ]
[You glance back, trying to find any traces of sarcasm. But no, it's Sigma. You're both on a similar wavelength regarding your lack of expressiveness. You load up your tray with food before replying.]
[ he nods, his expression unchanging. there's no reason to think any less of kris because of the vote...or because of the whole plot. ]
A popularity contest...
[ he ponders over the idea, a bit confused. it's not like he ever experienced school to know how those things work. but now that he thinks about it... ]
I guess. If you're useful, or if you're well-liked, you have a higher chance at coming out alive.
It's reckless, perhaps, but it's human--no, animal--nature to want to live. She's simply capitalizing on it. If you wanted to die in order to destroy this...then maybe that's a little easier to understand. But I could be wrong.
[ while his expression doesn't change, there's a small huff from him; almost like a scoff. ]
You still did well, regardless. I think that you should be proud of yourself, though, in the end, your plan was flawed.
[ he'll take a sip of his glass of water, thinking over how to answer the question. ]
I would have made myself less popular, if not outright disliked, the way that Credo did by announcing that he wanted to vote out Lavi. By egging people to vote for you, the youngest, you'll only get the opposite reaction. People will either know that you're plotting something or they will pity you and wish to save you.
[ a pause. another sip of water. ]
But those are just my observations and opinions. You're free to take them or leave them.
[Just because you still find that funny. The truth is that now that you have some distance from the whole ordeal you can admit that maybe that whole rant was more genuine, and you were looking for someone to help. It's selfish and irrational and stupid, and you won't repeat it.
You laugh at the question.]
I'll let you know once I experience it. I get short bursts of free will, and then it's back to being a... what did he call it? A "puppet on a string."

Date: 2022-01-16 01:01 am (UTC)Somehow I doubt Stronghart or the doctors will be busting us out any time soon.
[You cross your arms in a rare moment of expressiveness for you, taking a seat in front of him with a tray of food in front of you.]
I told Adi that I had no interest in playing along with her stupid game. The role was her response.

She retaliated just to see what you would do. My employer is like that. [ he nods. ] Unfortunately, I think she would have enjoyed this, too.
cw for suicidal ideation

I did promise I'd be a worthy advesary.
suicidal ideation for this whole thread, tbh
